Starting Your Own Small Grocery

1 Settle on the grocery items that you need to sell. It is a lovely suggestion to hire a market research agency to do some research & figure out the most popular food items in your locality. While this might appear superficial at first, this is indeed an important step & might actually bring to light some important revelations about the consumer choices in your area.

2 Settle on the model of your store. Will it be something akin to the Piggly Wiggly stores or will you have a model where customers interact with salesmen in the store for what they need to buy?

3 Find out how much it will take to start the store & stock goods. You need to prepare your finances accordingly. Check out business loan application processes

4 Find out about licenses that you may need to operate the grocery.

5
Contact wholesalers & discuss prices with them on various grocery items. Find out how they are going to be sent to your location, & the mode of payment.

6 Decide the location of the store.

7 Get the store prepared. This means putting up shelves, cleaning floors, putting in air-conditioning, setting up a computer-based or an electronic receipt & payment process, refrigerators, security cameras & restrooms.

8
Decide the name of the store. Have fliers for the store printed & distribute them in every single place so that people are aware of its launch. Give out special offers & discounts in your flier ads so that you get more visitors interested in your store.

9 Settle on the opening date. Make positive that you stock popular items prior to the day you open. Check the equipment to be positive that it is in lovely condition. Make positive that the lighting is lovely so that the whole store is well lit on the outside as well as the inside on the day of the opening.

10 Hire the right staff for your grocery store. Train them on how to deal with customer queries. The right customer care can make a significant impact on the general customer satisfaction.
